13 things

Over at the design collective everyone is getting very excited about the imminent start of classes, and one or two challenges have been set. I took part in the "13 things" challenge by creating a LO using 13 different items (13 is the number of designers involved in the project) and here it is: Scuba Diver.

I thought the challenge would be easy, but I actually found it quite difficult! I enjoyed making the scalloped paper, and even used some of the supplies I bought at the Harrogate show on Saturday!
The designers have posted their storage projects over the last week, the idea being that as subscribers we will be getting a number of pdf files, and we need something pretty to store them in, either on disk or print offs. I altered this already pretty pink folder, adding some of my favourite rob and bob papers and hand making a flower, adding some bling and a heidi swapp inked title. I'm now thoroughly lokoing forward to filling it!

Half hour challenge

If you haven't made your way over to the Design Collective yet you should! I can't wait for the first lot of classes to come out at the beginning of April, but for now there's lots of fun chat and challenges to be getting on with! Last week a challenge was set to do a LO in half an hour - now I normally take hours to do a LO, it can take me ages to even chose what photos to use, then the same applies for picking cardstock, papers, embellishments, it goes on! So this was quite a challenge for me, but I did it and created this page about the hyrax. I did cheat a bit by using the latest Scrapagogo kit, so less work went into picking papers and embellishments. I'm really quite pleased with the result!

Sunset

We had the most beautiful sunset last night - the colours were so rich. we went out for a wander down the lane to make the most of it as the sky was so stunning and we couldn't see it too well from our apartment, but just down the road are some fields, with a much better view! Here are a few pics that i took.

I should explain about the anatomy colouring book from my {read} photo, specifically for louise who has asked! Basically each page has a lined drawing of a part of the body, and a description of the anatomy. the idea is to colour it in and as a learning method it really works - it definately sticks in your mind, especially if you have more of a visual memory, like me! So there you go, the anatomy colouring book, available at good book stores near you :)

Itunes Life

Yup, I'm bored of work so here's a random thing i found. It's meant to be the themetune to the movie of your life lol.

Itunes for life
So, here's how it works:
1) Open your iTunes library
2) Put it on 'Shuffle'
3) Press 'Play'
4) For every question, type in the song that's playing
5) When you go to a new question, press the next button
6) Don't lie and try to pretend you're cooler than you actually are

Opening Credits:

Nothing to report

The last few days have been pretty uneventful really. Monday I went to Scarborough, tuesday i came back and off i go again tomorrow!
In between it's revision and housework - fun!
Dad had his knee operation yesterday (his 10th i think!) which all went well. He'll be in hospital until the weekend and the recovery will be long but hopefully it will be worth it.
I did go shopping yesterday - I couldn't resist this gorgeous skirt from per una -naughty I know, but look how pretty!

I am so ready for summer, I've been really overexcitable about it being sunny the last few days lol! I love it when it's warm, I'm a skirts and dresses girl and I just love dressing up in pretty, floaty, twirly creations!

Pencil Lines #22

Love the most recent pencil lines sketch - #22. I didn't stick very religiously to the sketch, but it did inspire it! This LO tells the story of our arrival at St Luke's hospital in Kenya. The doctor that we had arranged the placement with had left, and hadn't informed anyone else that we were coming so we were totally unexpected! Needless to say we weren't very happy, although the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. These pictures are of the entrance to the hospital - quite a culture shock!

Sunny Scarborough

Well although I wasn't looking forward to going to Scarborough for my last placement but it's actually been fine! Have really enjoyed getting some fresh sea air and there have been no distractions so I've got loads of work done, which can only be good thing at this point!

Have now also booked my second holiday for this year - I'm off to cyprus in may with some friends from uni, to celebrate te end of exams and medical school! We said at the beginning of the year that we would go away for a week instead of going to the grad ball (it's costing almost the same!) but i'm not sure i ever really believed it would get organised so i'm very excited!

{Green}

The latest prompt on her space my space is "green", which is very appropriate as this morning we went out to the garden centre to buy this venus fly trap (michael has been obsessing about getting one for ages, he's such a big kid lol) in this funky green pot! As soon as I saw the prompt this afternoon I knew this would be perfect!

{Two and Cold}

The next her space my space prompt was "two", for which i found this cute little ornament.

"Cold" i found more difficult, but the condensation on the windows this morning was perfect!

It's my last day at my current placement today, yay! Quite excited to be finishing, I haven't particularly enjoyed it - i don't think elderly medicine is for me. Hopefully the next placement will be better, although it's in Scarborough - a 2 hour drive away! Not looking forward to having to spend the weeks there, but at least there will be no distractions so I should get lots of revision done!

{Happy}

Have you come across the her space my space blog yet?
It's a series of photo promts set by the very talented kirsty wiseman and anita mundt, and so far the photos are amazing! Because I missed the first few promts I've started back at the beginning with "Happy". This photo epitomises a lot of things that make me happy - the start of spring, fresh flowers (especially tulips!) and anything thats pink.
