I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! We had a lovely time seeing all the family, eating far too much and being thoroughly spoiled with wonderful gifts. Now it's back to reality, although we have friends for a couple of days over New Year, then at the weekend we are off for a lovely lunch at my godfather's, and then the following weekend we are off to see the Lord of the Rings musical in London so a busy few weeks ahead.

I have a few things to share - my latest two self portraits, which never got posted in the Christamas rush!

I also managed another Christmas themed LO - this is of my parent's Christmas tree last year. The tree has to be one of my favourite things about Christmas - it has to be real, and it has to be covered in glittery, shiny things :D

With my self portraits from Saturdays I'm filling a 6x6 album with one layout per week. It was harder than I thought to create these - I've never done a LO before with no title or journalling! They were pretty speedy though, and a great way to use all those scraps up.

{Cute}

Well it's a blatent cheat as this was taken last year, but here is my "cute".
Very short today, must get back to wrapping gifts!

Merry Christmas!

I haven't updated in the last few days, as I'm sure most of you can empathise with, the run up to Christmas is a little crazy lol!
As I'm not sure I'll be able to get on to blog again beforehand, I'll take this opportunity to say to everyone have a wonderful Christmas!

{Drawer}

Drawer - thats another of those words that the more you look at it the more incorrect it looks!
We don't actually have many drawers in this house I discovered as I was searching for a suitable subject this morning. Cupboards - loads, shelves - loads, drawers - not a lot. Luckily, I have these funky drawers for my scrapping bits and bobs. They are from Ikea, and I've covered each drawer in one of my favourite patterned pappers. Even better, each drawer is reversible, so if I get bored of one I just whip it out and slot it back in the other way round - hey presto, a drawer makeover!

A couple of layouts to share with you today too, the first of my friend Sarah and I on holiday in May. The second is the first time I'm scrapped last year's christmas photos, I was determined to do at least one LO before this christmas came around, and I just about made it! We gave my sister a donut maker - yummy they were! Her gift actually went perfectly with one I recieved from her - a chocolate fountain!

{Show off Sunday! and Self Portrait}

Well this week I'm showing off my graduation piccies from this thursday. What a surreal day, I can hardly believe that the last 5 years have finally come to a close, and I'm an official graduate. Obviously I didn't take these photos lol, but they capture the day perfectly - fun and proud :D

I didn't manage to get my self portrait up yesterday as I went to visit mum and dad for the day, but here it is.

{Laces}

Okay, so I failed miserably on yesterdays prompt of moonlight and didn't manage to get anything up. I'll keep trying the rest of this week!
Onto today's - laces. I discovered that I personally have zero pairs of shoes with laces, even my trainers don't have them lol, so I had to borrow a pair!
Not much time today, we are off to Leeds later for my graduation tomorrow, back on friday :)

Here we go again...

Tut tut for me - I broke my stash diet. I only bought a couple of small things, but I'm making myself start again!
So here is layout number 1 of 35.

{Frosty}

"Frosty the snowman, lala la la la la-la...."

I had to improvise a little as there is no frost here today, although there may be tomorrow or wednesday - the forcast is for -5!

Anyhow, here is the Christmas card I made for Michael - featuring Frosty the Snowman, made from Fimo, on a very frosty looking piece of glittery cardstock :D
The idea is not all mine, I took it from a magazine, very fun to get the Fimo out again, back to my youth!

{Show off Sunday!}

Here we are at Sunday again, I'm not really sure where this week has gone! I think it went by in a bit of an emotional blur really - there were lots of down and then plenty of ups to make up for it!

here is my show off for this week, it was taken on a trip to Tropical World in Leeds, which I love. Taking pictures of butterflies is quite a mission, I wish this one had opened out a little more, but I'm still really pleased with him :D

{Self Portrait Saturday}

Here I am again, obviously heavily photoshopped lol! I just love tinkering about and seeing what effects I can get, so much fun for a dull and dreary saturday morning :D

{Celebrate!}

We are in a celebratory mood this week, so it wasn't hard to find the perfect subject for today's prompt!

{Christmas, Chilly and Card}

No updates for the last few days as I was on the edge of my seat waiting for exam results to come out, and yesterday they did - I passed! I'm now a doctor, wow thats wierd! I can't quite believe that the last 5 years have come to an end - graduation is next week and I'm sure that will make it feel more real.

Here are the last few days prompts - tomorrow's is "celebrate" - something I'm certainly in the mood for :D

{Cosy}

"Cosy" - is it me or is it one of those words that the more you looks at it the more wierd it looks?!
Anyway, this is my cosy - a gorgeous scented candle by yankee candles, tis one is called holiday home sweet home and it just smells of christmas! I've just noticed you can see out tree lights reflecting in the glass jar, well I guess that adds to the cosiness of the whole thing :D

{Show off Sunday!}

A Christmassy photo to get us all in the festive mood - this is from last year :)
Our tree went up yesterday, and very pretty it is, all golds and reds. I love how it makes the house feel so cosy. The rest of the decorations will go up today - the tree took so long to do we didn't get time to do the rest yesterday!

Eeks, it's me again!

Yup, another picture of me - scary! I find it funny how one person can look so different - I think I look completely different in my 3 self portraits so far, I also think I look totally different in the mirror than I do on camera! This is good practice though - I need to get used to having my photo taken for the wedding!

And my third LO of my stash diet - the photo is my sister on holiday this year, the papers are sassafrass lass and the sketch is a becky fleck page map from august i think.

Today being the first day of advent I got to open the first parcel of my advent swap - my Santa had cut me a whole bunch of titles for wedding pages and they are great! I can't wait to use them, but obviously there's still almost 7 months left, so they are going in my wedding drawer! I'm chuffed to bits with them, and can't wait to open tomorrow's gift :D

Stash diet!

Yup, I've decided that I have too much stash and am putting myself on a diet! I intend not to buy anything else until I have completed 35 layouts, although I will still be getting my monthly kits.
I made a start by doing two more layouts using pencil lines sketches number 57 and number 60. Here they are.

I have just counted up, and it turns out that so far in 2007 I've done 35 layouts exactly, which means I'm going to have to get my scrapping butt in gear if I ever want to buy anything again!

{Rough, Smooth and Bristles}

This week's prompts are textures - so here are rough, smooth and bristles :)

{Wet}

This is what is wet in my space today - the garden!
I tried so hard to get this really sharp, but there was quite a breeze and this was the best i could do. still, i just love the colour, it looks like velvet!

Sunday, 25 November 2007

I've been in a really creative mood over the last few days, and have done more scrapping than in the last few months! I have always loved using sketches, and I've been using the page maps site loads recently - these three LOs all use sketches from here - they are a great way to jump start a LO. Take a look at Page Maps.

Next, my self portrait for this week - I missed last weeks, but I'm hoping to start doing this regularly, I'd love to make up a book of them after I've got a few.

And here is my "show off"! This was taken years ago, and was the photo that got me thinking about photography really. It was a complete stroke of luck, but I love the effect of the clouds, and the semi silhouette.

New Pages

Firstly, Pencil Lines sketch #59, using the yummy love elsie betty collection.

Secondly, finally working my was through our holiday photos from this year - there are so many it's a daunting task!

Thirdly, this was done for the Scraproom november newsletter, as part of the scraplift challenge - the glitter seriously went everywhere! If anyone has any tips for containing glitter they would be much appreciated!

{Snip and Collect}

These prompt seem to be getting harder, I really struggled to be original at all with "snip" so a photo of my herb garden seemed to be the best I could do! "Collect" was a bit easier - I seem to collect these little bits of plastic like they are going out of fashion, and they also allow me to collect points - ooh, clever!

{Almost}

Here is my 'almost' - my engagement ring - almost our wedding day, almost a wife. Well, in 222 and 45 minutes lol! I guess really thats quite a long time, but when we got engaged it was over 1000 days so it feels like it's almost here. Most of the big things are sorted, the honeymoon is booked, it's just small details to attend to now - the fun part! :)

{Show off Sunday!}

Sunday's prompt is to show off a favourite photo, I love this idea!
Here are a couple of my favouites from a trip to the yorkshire sculpture park earlier in the year - I couldn't pick just one! These were actually taken as part of Cheryl's Painting with Light photography course. So, my top 3 pics from the day are these:

My first time doing the self portrait saturday challenge at herspace my space. So here I am!

{A rainbow!}

Finally got my camera out again today, I've really missed taking photos - I need to get back into the habit!

I'm catching up a little with herspace myspace, starting with the rainbow!
So here is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and pink. Except, I've just realised I missed out yellow whoops!

Also here are a couple of recent layouts that haven't made it on here yet!
