First Magnolia cards

I haven't made cards for ages, but having recieved delivery of some gorgeous Magnolia and Sugar Nellie stamps my enthusiasm has been renewed! These are my first two creations, although I have quite a lot more images stamped and coloured in ready to be made into cards. I really enjoyed doing the shading - I was amazed at the difference that blending with sansador made.

Cropping!

Here are the 3 layouts that I completed on Saturday at the crop. I'm doing more and more of my layouts this size now - I find it's so much easier to get the placement right, and of course it's quicker to complete pages so I feel like I've done more!

Sunday 24 February 2008

We went on our first geocaching adventure this morning. We've been meaning to go for ages, and tried the other weekend with Dad's very old shipping GPS but didn't get very far as we couldn't get a signal! Well today we went with our new basic GPS system and found it easily! It was so much fun - we felt like detectives lol.

This LO is one I did with the Scrapagogo January kit, and was for a challenge on UKS to use 2 photos, a song title from Grease or Saturday Night Fever, something shiny and something white. I loved the quote - "If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies", and it went perfectly with these photos that I took last year at Tropical World in Leeds. If you live anywhere near there, it is definately worth a visit!

Yesterday I went to a crop and completed 3 layouts, which I'll upload later. I've also had a few Sugar Nellie stamps and Magnolia stamps arrive in the last few days - they are so cute! I'm going to have a good play with them later, so hopefully I'll have some creations to share. At the very least I need to make Mother's Day Cards!

New Layouts

I've been busy crafting this morning - I haven't had much tiome over the last week or so, so it's nice to finally be able to sit down and scrap for a while!

'Be You' uses Fancy Pants papers which came in my very first Scraproom kit in June 2007! It's the first one I've actually used up, right down to the last bit of paper so I'm rather proud of myself! It's a real achievement for me to be left with an empty baggie!

You can't see the journalling on the scan of 'Cherished Moments' as it is in silver! It reads:
"I love looking at photos of us together - we always look so happy & that reflects how we feel together - so happy to have found each other & to be spending our lives with one another.
Photo: Gozo, 2007"

This one I did a couple of weeks ago. I love the photo - taken at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in September. The 'Love, Elsie' fabric with clouds on was perfect! I had great fun with this one.

Saturday 9 February 2008

Oh dear, I've been terribly quite again!

I have not been in the mood for photography at all so I'm having a break from it to refresh myself!

I have done a little bit of scrapping, but again have not really been in the right frame of mind. My February Scrapagogo kit arrived this week and it's fantastic, so I'm going to sit down with that later in the hope that it kick starts my creativity again!

I did this layout with the January kit, which was mainly Making Memories Noteworthy papers - they are so pretty!

The wedding planning has been going full steam ahead! I now have my shoes, and my veil is on order so my outfit is pretty much complete now. We've chosen a pattern for the bridesmaids dresses, and I've bought the material (a gorgeous soft tafetta in sage green) so I'm excited about those! We went and saw the lady who is making the cake, and discussed our idea - it's going to be quite the centrepiece I think! On Tuesday we are off to taste possible menus, and I'm off to see the graphic designer to sort out the stationary, which will be going out at the end of February. So it's non-stop at the moment.

I started going swimming this week - I started my "diet" a couple of weeks ago, and am really trying to exercise more. So far I've lost 5lbs, which I'm pleased with, I just need to keep up the activity levels!

Enough from me for today, I hope I'll be back later with more layouts!
